The blog for pause focuses on building a healthy work culture and psychological wellness for team members. The visual style is best described as blobby, a friendly and gender amorphous style I developed to represent the blog’s tone. I wanted to show a thriving and inclusive workforce, with features like colourful clothing and different hairstyles to distinguish each individual. All the illustrations are set in remote and office workspaces to highlight the nature of Pause being designed for work and leave management purposes. The color palette is borrowed from the pause application itself, so it fits in with content and overall design of the app. It was a challenging experience for me, in a positive way. I had to make sure I did not repeat existing stock illustrations for office scenarios whilst also effectively visualising the ideas and concepts that each blog post was expressing.

Lack of a healthy work-life balance, high workplace stress, an overly critical feedback mechanism, burnout or bad interpersonal relationships, can be major causes of mental health concerns.

"When managing leave requests, we’d recommend that you keep in mind not just the team’s human effort and bandwidth, but also the regions people are in. This way, someone on the same timezone could potentially pick up time-sensitive work with minimum disruption."
